Blue cards for Queensland Fire Department

Queensland Fire Department (QFD) employees and volunteers may need a blue card if they do regulated child-related work.

The type of work you do will determine if you need a blue card and what category covers that work.

Examples

You may need a blue card if you provide:

• emergency or support services to children as part of your role. This may include work covered by the health, counselling and support services category
• fire safety or education programs at schools. This may be work covered by the schools category
• fire safety or education programs at a childcare centre, kindergarten or outside school hours care service. This may be work covered by the education and care services category.
