Check if you are eligible

Before you apply for a voucher, answer the questions below to ensure your child is eligible. There are helpful hints provided with each answer to assist you.

  1. Have you already received a Get Started Voucher for your child/young person this calendar year? You are able to apply for one voucher for each child under your care in a calendar year.
  2. Are you the parent/carer/guardian of a child/young person between the ages of 5 and 17 (inclusive)? (If you chose 'No' above)
  3. Do you or does your child hold a valid Health Care Card/Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it? (If yes, please have this ready at the time of application). Note: Medicare card numbers and Customer Reference Numbers for Centrelink payments (including Family Benefit Part A or B) are not valid. Only valid Centrelink Health Care Cards or Pensioner Concession Cards are accepted. The department undertakes audits of cardholders to verify validity. Invalid cards will result in vouchers being rejected and unable to be used.
