FairPlay vouchers

FairPlay is an initiative under the Queensland Government’s Activate! Queensland 2019-2029 strategy to support regular participation in physical activity, by reducing the cost for children and young people from low income families.

How it works

Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child/young person. These vouchers can be used towards the cost of membership, registration and/or participation fees for eligible activities with registered physical activity providers.

FairPlay will replace the Get Started Vouchers program. Support will also be available for Queensland families who struggle with the cost of regular participation, but have not previously met the eligibility criteria for a voucher.

Opening dates

Applications will be available in 2 rounds per year from July 2019.

Round 1 of FairPlay will open for applications on 31 July 2019.

Referral agents

Registered referral agents assist families in genuine financial need to access FairPlay vouchers.

If you have previously been approved as a referral agent for the Get Started Vouchers program, you do not need to re-register for FairPlay. We will contact existing providers with further information about Round 1 of FairPlay.

All new referral agents will need to complete an online registration for FairPlay.

Activity providers

New physical activity providers will be eligible to apply under FairPlay, including not-for-profit community organisations offering structured activity programs.  Activity providers will be able to register prior to Round 1 opening.

If your organisation has previously been approved to redeem vouchers under the Get Started Vouchers program, you do not need to re-register for FairPlay. We will contact existing providers with further information about Round 1 of FairPlay.

All new physical activity providers will need to complete an online registration.
