When to renew
We will send you a reminder 10 weeks before your card expires.
To get yours, keep your contact details up to date.
You can renew your card up to 16 weeks before the expiry date.
Before you renew
Before you apply to renew, make sure you:
- have your Customer Reference Number (CRN) from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)
- check that your email address, mobile number and date of birth match your TMR record
- understand your payment options.
Check your photo
Your blue card will use the photo linked to your TMR record.
If your photo is more than 6 years and 11 months old, you must visit a TMR customer service centre to have a new photo taken before you renew.
We will let you know during your renewal if you need a new photo.
Renew your card
When you are ready to renew your blue card or exemption card, choose 1 of these options:
- renew online using the online applicant portal (recommended)
- download and submit a paper application form
The online application works best on desktop or tablet devices.
Use a current browser such as:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- Edge.
Older browsers may not work properly.

Apply using a paper application
If you can’t renew online, you can submit a paper application.
If you need to pay a fee, you will need a:
- Mastercard or Visa credit or debit
- BPOINT receipt number.
You can send your paper application to us by:
- uploading a scanned copy
- posting it
- delivering it in person.
Paper application may take longer to process.
