How to book online

To book an appointment for yourself, please follow the instructions in the COVID-19 Vaccine booking system step-by-step guide for users (PDF, 1.2 MB) .

For your own security, please ensure you log out of the Queensland Health Vaccine Booking System after making or changing your COVID-19 vaccination appointment. This can be done by clicking on your name at the top right corner of the screen and selecting Log off.

Booking on behalf of a dependent person

If you would like to book an appointment on behalf of a dependent person, you can do this by following the steps in the guide Book on behalf of someone else (PDF, 1.5 MB) . This guide will help you to book for a person legally considered a dependant person through the Queensland Health Vaccine Booking System. If you would like help with making a booking on behalf of a dependant person, please contact 134 COVID (134 268).

The most common Authorised Decision Maker subtype will be Statutory Health Attorney.

Examples of Statutory health attorneys include Spouse, de facto partner, non-paid carer, close relation (sibling, parent, other relation type) or close friend. A Tribunal Appointed Guardian is an individual appointed by the Queensland Civil and Administration Tribunal and generally is for adults who lacks capacity to make a decision about health care AND have not made a valid Advance Health Directive, or does not have an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA).

For consumers with an Advanced Health Directive, please ensure the document is sighted and contains the relevant direction within in to enable vaccination. For Consumers with an EPOA, please ensure appropriate paperwork is sighted and the consumer is accompanied by their EPOA for the vaccination episode.

Troubleshooting

How do I add my Medicare number? My Medicare card only has 10 digits

A complete Medicare number requires 11 digits in total. This includes your 10-digit Medicare number on your card followed by the unique reference number that appears next to your name. Please take extra care when entering you Medicare Number, it is extremely important to ensure it is 100% correct.

Your full medicare number includes the 10 digits on the front of the card, plus a reference number which is shown before your name, if you are first on the card your medicare number is your card number with an extra 1 at the end

If you do not have a Medicare card you can leave this field blank.

I haven’t received my email to confirm that I have successfully booked my vaccination appointment. What should I do next?

Please check your spam or junk folder. This email will be sent from: noreply@vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au (Queensland Health).

Why do I need to use a unique email address and unique mobile phone number?

To book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, you need to use:

  1. an email address that has not been used in the online COVID-19 vaccination booking system before
  2. a mobile phone number that has not been used in the online COVID-19 vaccination booking system before

The system does not support the use of shared email addresses and shared mobile phone numbers. You can create an email account using free online services like Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo.

I’ve booked my appointment online, but my appointment date and time on the booking confirmation page doesn’t look right. What can I do?

The dates and times shown in the Queensland Health COVID-19 vaccine online booking system are set to the time zone setting of your device (e.g. Windows PC, Apple Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android Mobile and Android tablet).

This means that available appointments and the booking confirmation webpage will show dates and times set to your device’s time zone.

If dates and times don’t look right in the Queensland Health COVID-19 vaccine online booking system, you can check your device’s time zone, and update it to the Queensland time zone. You can do this by using the links below.

Once you have updated the time zone setting, please sign back into the Queensland Health COVID-19 vaccine online booking system to continue booking your appointment.

To check that your booked appointment is showing the correct date and time, select the button I need to change my existing vaccination appointment. Then, on the Manage Bookings webpage, you will see your booked appointment’s date and time.

If your appointment’s date and time is still incorrect, please call 134 COVID (13 42 68) for help.

Booking your vaccination appointment online

How to book an appointment

  1. Log in to the vaccine booking system or create an account.
  2. Once logged in to the booking system, click Book for myself.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions within the system to make your booking.
    1. Read through the consent information and click Continue
    2. Complete the Pre-vaccination assessment form and click Next
    3. Enter your postcode to see vaccination centres near you. If you do not see any results you may need to increase the radius (km) value to search a bigger area.
    4. Select your preferred clinic to view the available appointments. Click Book to secure your appointment. If there are no appointments available you may need to try another clinic, or log back in another time when more appointments are made available.
    5. Once you’ve completed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email. Bring your confirmation email with you (you can print it or have it on your phone or device) on the day you’re vaccinated. You should also bring ID, your Medicare card or Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) if you have one, and a face mask.

Booked appointments

If you (parent, carer or guardian) have previously created an account in the Queensland Health COVID-19 online booking system, you can add your child as your dependent and book an appointment for them by following the steps in Book on behalf of someone else (PDF, 1.5 MB) .

If you don’t have an account in the Queensland Health COVID-19 online booking system, please   create an account (parent, carer or guardian) in order to book an appointment for your child.

For assistance with booking an appointment, call 134 COVID (13 42 68). If you need an interpreter, tell the person who answers and an interpreter will be provided for free.

You will have an account in the Queensland Health COVID-19 online booking system if you have previously:

  • booked an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination using the online booking system.
  • received assistance over the phone via 134 COVID (134 268)  to book an appointment at a Queensland Health vaccination location
  • visited a Queensland Health vaccination location as a walk-in.

Walk-ins

Use the list of vaccination clinics to find locations that allow walk-ins.

GP or pharmacy vaccination locations

You can make a booking for your child to be vaccinated at your local GP or pharmacy. Check the Vaccine Clinic Finder for a GP or pharmacy near you.

You will have an account in the Queensland Health COVID-19 online booking system if you have previously booked an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination using the online booking system.

How do I book my second vaccination appointment?

When you have received your first dose at a Queensland Health vaccination location, an appointment for your second dose will be made for you. You will receive an email with the second appointment details within the next five to seven days. This email includes instructions on how to change this booking, if is not convenient for you.

There is a window in which you can receive your second dose:
  • Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine should be administered as close to 8 weeks from your first vaccination.
  • AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine should be administered as close as possible to 12 weeks for the best protection. Please note that while the Delta strain of COVID-19 is circulating in our community, you are encouraged to get your second dose of AstraZeneca as early as 8 weeks from your first vaccination.

However, if you do not receive your second dose within the above timeframes, there is no cause for panic or concern. You will still be afforded excellent protection against severe COVID-19 infection and you do not need to start the vaccination regimen again.

Completing your vaccine course is very important, even if your second dose is outside the recommended window.

You should not attend a COVID-19 vaccination appointment if you:

  • are unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19
  • are awaiting COVID-19 test results
  • have tested positive with COVID-19 and you are in isolation
  • are in quarantine
  • are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

If you fall into any of the above categories, you will need to reschedule your vaccination appointment online via https://www.vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au. If you need help with rescheduling your appointment call 134 COVID (134 268).

If you had another vaccine in the 7 days before your COVID-19 vaccine appointment, tell your vaccine provider. They may ask you to reschedule your appointment.

There doesn’t seem to be a provider near me, how can I see more options?

Use the drop down menu of Radius (km) to select a higher km range, then click Search to see more vaccination locations.

There aren’t any appointments available at my chosen vaccination location

If there are no appointments available at your selected location you can expand the date range to show more appointments available at a later date.

Change the end date in the date range box to see more appointment times

If there are no appointments available you may need to try another location, or log back in at another time when more appointments become available.

We are currently experiencing significant demand and there are limited appointments available at this time, which may account for you being unable to find an appointment immediately.

We appreciate your patience while we make more appointments available on our booking system every day and encourage you to keep checking back for availability.

How do I book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment on behalf of someone else?

If you need to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment on behalf of someone else, who is legally considered a dependent person, please refer to the user guide Book on behalf of someone else (PDF) (PDF, 1.5 MB) for detailed instructions.

Who qualifies as an authorised substitute decision maker?

The most common authorised substitute decision maker type will be Statutory Health Attorney.

A tribunal appointed guardian is a person chosen by the Queensland Civil and Administration Tribunal. This person acts on behalf of a person who cannot make a decision about their own health care and does not have a valid Advance Health Directive or an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA).

I have more than 10 dependents, but the booking system only allows me to add 10

Once you have created 10 dependents you will see an error message "Maximum limit of dependents has been reached. Please contact 134 COVID (134 268) in case this is an error."

To add more than 10 dependents you will need to call 134 COVID (134 268) and request assistance to add additional dependents. Once added, you will be able to manage the appointments for these additional dependents from the booking system.

Changing or cancelling appointments

How do I change my appointment booking?

If you have booked an appointment online and now need to make a change, you can do this by following the steps in the guide Change or Cancel an Existing Appointment (PDF, 461 KB) . This guide will help you change the booking location, date and/or time through the Booking Portal.

When changing your appointment online, you will need to go back to Queensland Health COVID-19 vaccine online booking system and sign in using the email address you used to create an account in the system.

If you received your first dose appointment as a walk in, please check your inbox for an email from Queensland Health. This email will have a unique link to the Booking Portal. From this portal, you can create an account where you can manage your booking/s online.

Many people are trying to make a booking and there are limited appointments available at this time.  Changing your appointment may mean a longer wait time. We ask that you only change your appointment if it is absolutely necessary.

How do I cancel my booked appointment?

If you have booked an appointment online and need to cancel your appointment, you can do this by following the steps in the guide Cancel or Change an Existing Appointment (PDF, 461 KB) .

This guide will help you cancel your appointment.

When cancelling your appointment online, you will need to go back to Queensland Health COVID-19 vaccine online booking system and sign in using the email address you used to create an account in the system.

If you received your first dose appointment as a walk in, please check your inbox for an email from Queensland Health. This email will have a unique link to the Booking Portal. From this portal, you can create an account where you can manage your booking/s online.

How can I book an appointment?

Book online or check if your preferred location accepts walk-ins.

You can also find your nearest participating GP or Pharmacy using the Vaccine clinic finder.

Who can I contact if I need help to book, change or cancel an appointment?

If you’ve already booked an appointment through the Queensland Health vaccine booking system, you can make changes to your appointment through the same booking system. If you need assistance with this, or to speak to someone in your language, 134 COVID (134 268) is available any day of the week, at any time.

Can someone book an appointment on my behalf?

Yes. This can be done via the Vaccine clinic finder or the person assisting you can call 134 COVID (134 268) available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

My child is aged between 5 and 11 years old. Can I book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment for them?

Yes.

You will have an account in the Queensland Health COVID-19 online booking system if you have previously:

  • booked an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination using the online booking system
  • received assistance over the phone via 134 COVID (134 268)  to book an appointment at a Queensland Health vaccination location
  • visited a Queensland Health vaccination location as a walk-in.

I’m aged 12–17 years of age. Can I book an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine?

Yes, all people aged 12 and over are now eligible. You can find your nearest clinic using the vaccine clinic finder.

To receive your vaccine at a Queensland Health vaccination location you will need to book an appointment online. If you have your own email address (or an email address that has not been used in the vaccine booking system) you can book online. Otherwise, your parent or primary carer will need to book an appointment for you using the Book on behalf of someone else user guide (PDF, 1.5 MB) . They will need to log in with an existing account or use an unique email address that has not been used to create an account in the vaccine booking system before.

The system does not currently support the use of shared email addresses. You can create an email account using free online services like GmailOutlook or Yahoo.

Will the first and second appointments be booked at the same time?

When you have received your first dose, an appointment for your second dose will be made for you. You will receive an email with the second appointment details within the next five to seven days. This email will have instructions on how to change this booking, if is not convenient for you.

I had my first dose at a GP, can I have my second dose at a QLD Health clinic?

Queenslanders who received their first dose at a GP should return to their GP to finalise their immunisation. Second dose appointments should be booked before leaving your first dose appointment.

How can I have an interpreter at my appointment?

When you arrive at your vaccination location, let a staff member know that you need an interpreter. They can arrange this for you, and it's free.

How long does a vaccination appointment take?

When coming for your vaccination appointment, allow around 45 minutes for your appointment. This allows time for your patient screening, the actual vaccination and observation time after the injection.

Will I be able to a make a long appointment or family booking?

As supply increases and more appointments become available, we will look to provide options for appointments to be booked together such as to vaccinate a family or household together.

Do I need to bring anything to my COVID-19 vaccine appointment?

Yes. There are a few things you should bring with you on the day of your vaccine.

  • Booking confirmation (printed or on your phone)
  • Photo identification or employee identification, if applicable
  • Medicare card, if you have one
  • Information about any medical conditions you have or medications you are taking
  • Any vaccines you have had in the past 14 days or any previous COVID-19 vaccines you may have had.

We also suggest you wear a short sleeve shirt.

Do authorised substitute decision makers such as primary carers need to bring anything to their dependent person’s COVID-19 vaccine appointment?

Yes. Primary carers need to bring any official documentation that proves their authority as a substitute decision maker and shows their relationship to their dependent person. Examples of official documentation include:

  • Advanced Health Directive
  • Enduring Power of Attorney
  • Primary carer’s photo identification or employee identification.

If I feel unwell on the day of my appointment, what should I do?

Please do not attend your appointment. You can make changes to your appointment online. Alternatively, you can reschedule on or before your appointment date by phoning 134 COVID (134 268) any day of the week, at any time. Someone else can also reschedule the appointment on your behalf.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, get tested and stay home until you get the results and your symptoms resolve.
