Where to use your Seniors Card

You can use your Queensland Seniors Card, Seniors Card +go or Seniors Business Discount Card at thousands of participating businesses throughout Queensland.

If you hold a Queensland Seniors Card or Seniors Card +go, you can also access concession fares on public transport in Queensland and interstate.

The printed Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers is produced for the following regions:

• Greater Brisbane
• Central Queensland and Wide Bay
• Far North Queensland
• Moreton
• North Queensland and Whitsundays
• South West Queensland and Darling Downs
• Sunshine Coast
• Gold Coast

To request a printed directory by post, replace a lost directory, or order a directory for another region, email cardservices@smartservice.qld.gov.au or call 13 QGOV (13 74 68).

Queensland card holders visiting New Zealand

Look for the “SuperGold Cards Welcome” sticker in New Zealand businesses and ask if they also accept Queensland Seniors Card, Seniors +go and Seniors Business Discount Cards.

Queensland and New Zealand governments signed a reciprocal agreement for seniors’ discounts in 2012. Seniors Card, Seniors Card +go and Seniors Business Discount Card holders can now receive discounts and special offers on goods and services from businesses participating in the card program. Access to government concessions is not included.

Search the SuperGold online discount directory or look for the “SuperGold Cards Welcome” stickers when travelling in New Zealand, and ask the salesperson if they also accept the Queensland Seniors Card, Seniors +go or Seniors Business Discount Card. If a business does not offer discounts for Australian seniors, this will be noted on their website under ‘exclusions’.

The SuperGold Card site has the most up-to-date information about the New Zealand SuperGold Card discount scheme.

Visiting Queensland from overseas

New Zealand SuperGold Card holders and other seniors travelling to Queensland can search the online discount directory to find businesses offering discounts to visiting overseas cardholders.

How to use your Seniors Card

Shopping for goods and services

• Ask the salesperson if they provide discounts to seniors.
• Make the salesperson aware you are a card holder before
  • negotiating the price
  • requesting a quote
  • ordering goods and/or services
  • paying for goods and/or services.

Other concessions (Seniors Card and Seniors Card +go only)

• The Queensland Government offers concessions on services such as transport, motor vehicle registration, health, recreation and education.
• Concessions are also available on electricity supply. You will need to speak with your service provider about individual discounts.
