Queensland floods 2011
About the Queensland floods
Ongoing heavy rain in 2010/2011 caused rivers to rise, resulting in widespread flooding across much of Queensland in January 2011. Floodwater swept through towns and submerged parts of Brisbane city, causing loss of life and major damage to homes and infrastructure.
The 2011 floods are considered to be the largest disaster event in Queensland history.
