Motorcycle hazard perception test
Learner motorcycle licence holders
From Monday 29 March 2021 all learner motorcycle licence holders must take the hazard perception test.
All learner motorcycle licence holders must pass the motorcycle hazard perception test before upgrading their learner licence. You can take the test at any stage during your learner licence period.
Before Thursday 1 July 2021 you can choose to take the hazard perception test either before or after your Q Ride RE course or RE practical riding test.
From Thursday 1 July 2021 you will need to pass the hazard perception test before you take the Q-Ride RE Course or RE practical riding test.
If you take the hazard perception test after the Q-Ride RE Course or RE practical riding test, you will need to upgrade your licence in person and bring evidence of your identity.
Take the hazard perception test
You need to pay a fee to get access to the test. You will have access to the test for up to 12-months.

The hazard perception test will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes, you will need at least that amount of time connected to the internet.
If you don't have access to internet at home or another location like a school or local library call 13 23 80 to find out how to take the test. You may be eligible to take an offline version of the test.
