Following the outstanding work of our amazing emergency responders and frontline workers during Tropical Cyclone Jasper, a massive and complex engineering effort is repairing the damage with the Queensland Government, through the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA), working tirelessly to coordinate and oversee recovery operations.

Personal Hardship Assistance under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), jointly funded with the Australian Government was activated swiftly to address the emergency needs of impacted communities.

More than $9.6 million in personal hardship grants have been approved, benefitting more than 49,000 people in Far North Queensland.

The long-term recovery of the region is supported by the $111.5 million in extraordinary disaster assistance packages established by QRA as part of the DRFA.

The QRA has also activated DRFA assistance to cover the costs of clean-up and the restoration of damaged roads, bridges, and other essential public infrastructure.
