The Queensland Government’s Homes for Queenslanders plan is building more homes, faster.

The target is to deliver 53,500 social homes across the state by 2046.

In the short term, this social housing investment will deliver more than 300 social homes to be started by 30 June 2025 under the QuickStarts Qld capital investment program, supporting more than 430 local jobs.

The newly opened Cairns Rapid Accommodation and Apprenticeship Centre (RAAC) is employing tradies and apprentices to build more Homes for Queenslanders.  We’ve been busy rebuilding our QBuild workforce and this will mean more skilled workers to build, maintain and repair our public assets.

The facility will be used rain, hail or shine to build modular homes as social and government housing.
