Distance education

You can enrol your child in a school of distance education. There are eligibility criteria and fees may be charged for this service.

With distance education:

school curriculum programs are provided for students
teachers help monitor the child's learning and report on progress (as in state schools)
the parent is the home tutor.

Home education

If you register your child for home education you are required to:

accept legal responsibility for your child's education
provide a high-quality education for your child
provide a suitable learning environment in the home.

You can choose to educate your child yourself or enlist a registered teacher.
