Real estate training package

The Federal Department of Education and Training commissioned the Skills Service Organisation, Artibus Innovation, to review the existing property training package required to receive a licence or certificate in the industry.

Artibus consulted with the property industry, training sector and state and territory regulators to develop the proposed new training package. The requirements of the review were to update and redesign the qualifications to meet industry needs, and develop components that align with the licensing requirements across jurisdictions.

The new training package was released on 21 March 2019.

Consultation

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) conducted a review of the training package and units of competency for each licence and certificate class under the Property Occupations Act 2014.

Chattel auctioneers licensed under the Motor Dealer and Chattels Auctioneers Act 2014 were included as the units of competency required for this licence fall within the same training package.

We asked for feedback and comment on the proposed units of competency.

Consultation closed on 23 August 2019.
