Volunteering in justice
During Law Week, we recognise the vital contribution of volunteers who help make Queensland’s justice system fairer, safer and more accessible every day. From courts and legal services to community‑led justice programs, these roles support people at all stages of the justice journey.
If you’re thinking of volunteering, the following services offer meaningful justice‑related opportunities across Queensland.
-
Community Justice Groups (CJGs)
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities who support community‑led justice responses, mediation and cultural advice.
-
Community Legal Centres Queensland (CLCQ)
Law students, lawyers and community members who help deliver free legal advice and support services.
-
Provide non‑legal support, information and referrals to people attending court.
-
Witness documents, certify copies, and support court and community justice services.
-
Provide a vital link between police and the community, helping to prevent crime and strengthen community safety.
-
PACT (Protect All Children Today)
Provide court and wellbeing support to people who have lost a loved one to homicide.
-
Queensland Homicide Victims Support Group (QHVSG)
Support child, youth and vulnerable adult victims and witnesses before, during and after court; explain court processes; provide emotional support (not legal advice).

-
Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ)
