Completing your works

This page outlines the completion process for homeowners undertaking works through the Resilient Homes Fund. After your builder has completed resilience works on your home, you will be required to undertake the following steps:

Notify works are completed

Once works on your home are completed in full, notify QRIDA and provide certificates and other documentation as requested.

You can notify QRIDA by contacting them through the QRIDA Portal.

Certify the work

If your works require certification, your contractor will provide you with the relevant documents to submit to QRIDA.

Home Raise and Demolish & Rebuild or Relocate

Your builder will provide you with a Form 21 Final Inspection Certificate and a copy of the Building Approval stamped plans.

The Form 21 will be completed by a licenced certifier and will include the scope of works and evidence that the new habitable floor level meets or exceeds the Assessed Flood Level in your Home Assessment Report.

Resilient Retrofit Works

Your builder may provide you with one or more of the following forms, depending on the scope of work: Form 30, Form 43, Form 4, Form 12 and Form 21.

Once you notify QRIDA of your completed works, you will submit the relevant certification form/s with your final milestone payment form through the submission portal.

Inspect the work

Once QRIDA notifies us that work is complete and before we make final payment to your licenced contractor, we will assess the work to ensure it aligns with the Value for Money certificate.

The assessment will be conducted through a completion inspection. The inspection does not require deconstruction or invasive measures (i.e. removal of walls to inspect insulation) and will be conducted as an on-site visual inspection, or a desktop assessment. The type of assessment will depend on the nature of works completed on your home.

We will contact you to book in your completion inspection at a mutually agreeable time. Please ensure all approved works on the Value for Money certificate are completed prior to booking your completion inspection.

Receive your Completion Pack

You will receive a completion pack at your completion inspection or via mail. The completion pack will include:

  • information about notifying emergency services workers, insurance inspectors, contractors or future owners about the resilient works completed on your home.
  • a completion sticker with advice on where and how to display the sticker in your home.
  • a Dangerous Weather Emergency Plan to support your household’s planning for future severe weather events.
  • factsheets and other information about flood resilience.

After you receive your completion pack, you will receive a completion letter from QRIDA confirming your completed works. Once you receive your completion letter, there are no further actions you need to take.

Investigate additional improvements (Retrofit Program Only)

Homeowners in the retrofit program may be eligible to complete additional resilience works once building is complete.

If you have funds remaining through the program you originally accessed, you may be able to allocate those funds to complete additional works, so long as they are eligible.

For example, if you only used $40,000 funding under the Resilient Retrofit program, you may be able to complete additional resilient retrofit works. Up to $10,000 could be funded, after which you would be required to co-contribute on a dollar-for-dollar basis. It is important to note that eligible homeowners can only seek additional funds under the same program.

If you are interested in this option, please phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68) between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
