Advanced offsets
These pages are for proponents, such as developers, seeking land to deliver an environmental offset obligation. Landholders interested in establishing offsets on their property should visit Information and opportunities for landholders.
Advanced offset sites
Use the Advanced Offsets list to find sites registered by the department for potential future offset delivery as per Part 6 of the Environmental Offsets Regulation 2014.
Listed sites include verified ecological information showing the presence and condition of matters of State environmental significance to help proponents identify and assess site suitability.
Some sites may have improved in habitat quality since registration, which can provide greater certainty and reduce the time needed to acquit an offset obligation.
Using an advanced offset
Advanced offset sites are not automatically approved for use. Before a site can be used, it must meet all relevant policy and offset condition requirements.
List information
The Advanced Offsets list includes:
- project name
- site location, including lot and plan details
- bioregion and local government area
- verified information on Prescribed Environmental Matters, including area, condition and individual counts, where relevant.
The list does not include personal contact details of landholders.

For help enquiring about a listed site, email offsets@detsi.qld.gov.au and include the project name or site details.
Your privacy
We collect your personal information to register on a database of Advanced Offset holders as legislated under Section 90 of the Environmental Offsets Act 2014, and Section 14 of the Environmental Offsets Regulation 2014. We will also use your information to contact you:
- about delivering environmental offsets, including advanced offsets registration for priority environmental values (which change over time depending on what environmental values are being impacted)
- to provide you with information about interested parties or local governments who have contacted the department with enquiries about your listed Advanced Offset site
- to ask for feedback on the effectiveness of this Advanced Offset process and other elements of Queensland's environmental offset framework.
The following details will be included in the offsets register and may be viewed on Queensland Globe:
- name of the advanced offset and the lot and plan numbers
- the size of the advanced offset site
- the associated environmental values identified on site.
In the event that interested parties contact the department with an enquiry about your listed site, we will only provide information that you have consented to share via the Environmental Offset Delivery forms submitted with your application.
Your advanced offset site registration information may be shared with the relevant local government to the extent necessary to ensure correct property information and to facilitate contacts from interested parties.
All local governments in Queensland are bound to comply with the Information Privacy Act 2009. We will not otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent unless authorised or required by law. You will be able to opt-out from receiving information, or be removed from our contact register, at any time by emailing the Offsets Policy team at offsets@detsi.qld.gov.au.
