Navigation

When using the Queensland Government website (www.qld.gov.au) there are a number of ways that users can move around the site to access information and services.

The diagram below highlights the navigation options available on the qld.gov.au homepage.

Site navigation

The site navigation (primary navigation) is a menu located directly under the horizontal image banner at the top of each page. This menu contains links to the seven major sections of qld.gov.au including:

Section navigation

Section navigation (secondary navigation) is a menu used on all secondary pages on qld.gov.au and provides users with information specific to a section of our site. Section navigation (menu) will appear in the left-hand column of each secondary page. Links to pages within the section can be viewed or hidden by selecting the [+] or [-] symbols to the left of each menu item, where available.

My community

Located only on the qld.gov.au homepage, the 'My community' panel allows users to access information specific to a particular town or region. This information includes local weather, regional media releases and other links to local Queensland Government services and information.

Keyboard navigation

Several features have been included to assist users navigating via keyboard or alternate input devices and users of assistive technologies.
