Reforms to further education and training

Great skills. Real opportunities. is the Queensland Government's new action plan for reform of the state's further education and training sector. The 5-year plan includes:

  • fee-free training for Year 12 graduates in selected high priority courses
  • funding for high quality providers to deliver priority Certificate III level qualifications contestably
  • prioritising qualifications that match job opportunities
  • creating 10,000 extra apprentice and trainee placements
  • establishing TAFE Queensland as an independent statutory body with a commercially focused board.
