Electric vehicles

Queensland is preparing for a transition to electric vehicles (EVs) – an innovative technology which has the potential to provide Queenslanders with a range of environmental, economic and social benefits.

The Queensland Government is committed to a greener future, to supporting science and innovation and supporting Queensland business and industry. As part of this commitment, the Queensland Government has launched The Future is Electric: Queensland's Electric Vehicle Strategy. A key feature of this strategy is the Queensland Electric Super Highway - the world’s longest electric fast charging highway in a single state. Once complete motorists will be able to travel from the Gold Coast to Cairns and west from Brisbane to Toowoomba in a low or zero emissions vehicle.
