Indoor rock climbing and swimming

Enjoy rock climbing at our recreation centres

The Rock Face is open to the public at our Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast recreation centres on Saturdays and weekdays during school holidays. Our indoor walls have over 10 different climbs of varying degrees of difficulty, including crack only climbs and overhangs for the more experienced climber. Our automatic belay systems are great for doing solo climbs, but our experienced program staff will be there to help you achieve new heights.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Queensland Recreation Centres are temporarily closed. As a result, our rock climbing and swimming services have been suspended until further notice.

Rock climbing

The Rock Face is suitable for adults and kids aged 5 years and over (ages 5-12 must be accompanied by an adult). Entry costs $12.15 and covers all equipment required, but climbers should make sure to wear enclosed shoes at all times.

Climbing After Dark

The Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre is keeping The Rock Face open for some late night climbing, complete with disco lights and pumping music.

Pools and swimming

Casual swimming at our Gold Coast Recreation Centre

Our Gold Coast Recreation Centre is opening up their pool for public use during the school holidays for only $3.90 per person. Swimmers of all ages are welcome to dive in, as long they follow the directions of the on-site lifeguard at all times, and children under 15 are accompanied by an adult.

Parties and group bookings

The Rock Face and The Caves are available for private parties and group bookings any day of the week (subject to availability), price on application. For enquiries, please contact us.
