This course helps you improve your mediation skills and prepare for the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) assessment.

How to enrol

Step 1: Complete the application form

Start the online form

Step 2: Upload proof for the concession price (if needed)

If you're applying for the concession price, upload proof like your student ID or pension card. Files must be less than 5MB.

Step 3: Pay the fee

You must pay the fee to secure your place in the training.

Pay by credit card. See Payment options.

Step 4: Receive enrolment confirmation

After you submit the online form, you will be issued a receipt for your payment.

We will email you within 3 business days to confirm your spot in the course.

What you will learn

This course covers:

• Day 1: Activities, discussions, and short role plays on:
  • setting an agenda
  • exploring issues
  • private sessions
  • generating options
  • negotiating
  • writing agreements
• Day 2: Coached role plays to practice the full mediation process
• Day 3: Preparing for the accreditation assessment.

You can go to all 3 days or just one day. If you're aiming for AMDRAS accreditation, we recommend attending all 3 days to feel fully prepared.

How you will be assessed

The assessment as required by AMDRAS includes:

• simulated mediation role play, where you'll act as both a mediator and a party in a dispute
• a 1,200-word written assessment in the form of a reflective journal, which you have 10 business days to complete.

Your skills will be assessed by experienced mediators who are nationally accredited and have at least 3 years of experience.
