About the Digital Graduate Program

The Digital Graduate Program offers recent graduates the opportunity to get a head start on their career. This award-winning program is considered one of the best graduate programs in Australia. The Queensland Government is one of the largest, flexible, career progressive and stable employers in Queensland

Our graduates:

  • contribute to a digital Queensland while working on exciting and innovative digital and IT projects
  • help us deliver public services like health, education, transport, infrastructure, police and emergency services.

Recent graduates can apply to enter the program on a 2-year paid placement in digital technology or customer support roles with the Queensland Government.

The program commences in March each year and is based primarily in Brisbane.

We expect you to come with some knowledge from university but will teach you about government and help you develop the soft skills required to succeed.

We provide graduates with support and professional development to give them the tools and confidence to transition from digital graduates to digital professionals.

As one of the largest employers in the state, the Queensland Government provides graduates the opportunity to tailor their career development and enhance their career opportunities.

We offer:

  • a starting salary of $68,414 per annum plus superannuation and temporary 2-year contract

Career progression

Due to their experience and training, our graduates can progress their careers very quickly. Eighty-seven percent of graduates completing the program stay on to be employed by the Queensland Government post-program. Our graduates’ salaries can increase up to $22,000 or more after completing the 2-year program.

Graduates may receive an offer of employment from one or more agencies or departments. The nature of work may vary depending on the employer. Graduates receive opportunities to work on different projects and in different roles, travel, and progress their careers through our learning and development programs.
