What is a residential park?

A residential park is an area of land that includes:

  • land (sites) available for rent under a site agreement
  • common areas
  • facilities for the comfort, convenience or enjoyment of residents.

Manufactured homes are found in various types of residential parks:

  • mixed-use – the park may have a mixture of manufactured homes, caravan sites, tents and holiday cabins, which offer short and long-term accommodation
  • purpose-built – these are only made up of manufactured homes exclusively and are often targeted at the over-50s age group

Residential parks are managed by a park owner or manager.
