    • be a combination of letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and an underscore (_)
    • not be a password you have used previously

    To delete your Smartjobs account:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click Update my account.
    3. Click Delete details.
    4. Enter your password in the Old password field.
    5. Click Continue. This will remove the account from the system.

    Update my email address

    To update your email in My SmartJobs:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click Update my account.
    3. Enter your password in the Old password field.
    4. Enter your new email in the Username (email address) and Confirm email address fields.
    5. Click on Save.

    Set up/restart alerts

    Job vacancy alerts expire after 90 days. To set up or restart the alerts:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click Job alert.
    3. Select your preferred location, occupational group and salary. To select more than one option, for example, Brisbane—CBD, Brisbane—North, and Brisbane—South, hold the ‘Ctrl’ key to select multiple lines.
    4. Click Test. A list of current jobs will appear. Click Next to view the next page, if available.
    5. If you are happy that the alert is selecting the right jobs for you, click Save.

    If a new job is added to SmartJobs, that matches your criteria, you will be sent an email alert. Alerts are only sent, when new jobs are listed.

    You can also stop the alerts from expiring through your My SmartJob account by taking the above steps before the alerts expire.

    To unsubscribe from job alerts:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click Job alert.
    3. Click Cancel then Continue to delete the job alert from your account.

    Follow up on an application status

    To find out about the status of the selection process, please contact the person listed in the job information booklet.

    If you applied for the position online, you can check the status of your application on My SmartJob.

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click My applications. From here you can see the status of all jobs you have applied for.

    Get feedback on an application

    To get feedback on your application, or to find out about the status of the selection process, please contact the person listed in the job information booklet.

    If you applied for the position online, you can check the status of your application on My SmartJob.

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click My applications. From here you can see the status of all jobs you have applied for.

    Get a position description for a job already applied for

    To get the position description and other documents for a position you have applied for:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click My applications.
    3. Click on the relevant application.
    4. Click Full job listing. This will take you to the original vacancy, where you can access the documents.

    We recommend that you download and keep all relevant documents when you apply.

    Delete an application

    To delete your application:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click My applications.
    3. Click on the relevant application. This may be a draft or submitted.
    4. Click Delete, then Confirm.

  24. (If you chose 'Search and apply for a job' above)

    Search and apply for a job

    To search for current job vacancies:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Search for the job you want to apply for and click on the position to show the full job description.
    3. Print any relevant documents.
    4. Click Apply online.
    5. Complete the relevant fields in the form and add your referees.
    6. In the Upload files section, add your resume and selection criteria (if required) by clicking Attach files.
    7. Click Browse and locate the files on your computer. You can enter a description in the next box.
    8. Click Save and Close.
    9. To check whether the files have been uploaded, click View files.
    10. Once you are happy with your application, click Apply now. You will receive a message confirming that your application has been submitted.

    Once your application is received, you will be sent an acknowledgement email.

  25. (If you chose 'Submit an application that is in draft' above)

    Submit an application that is in draft

    To check that your application is successfully submitted:

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click My applications.
    3. Click on the draft application.
    4. In the application, check that all fields are completed and all attachments are uploaded.
    5. Click Submit. You will receive a message which confirms that your application has been submitted.

    Once your application is received, you will be sent an acknowledgement email.

  26. (If you chose 'Resubmit a withdrawn job application' above)

    Resubmit a withdrawn application

    To resubmit an application after you have withdrawn it, you must manually delete the application.

    1. Log in to My SmartJob.
    2. Click on My applications.
    3. Click on the relevant application.
    4. Click on Delete, then Confirm.

    You will now be able to reapply for the position.

    Alternatively, you can email or post your application to the address listed in the job information booklet or position description. The application must be lodged by the listed due date and time, unless an extension has been approved by the panel chairperson.

    If you have saved your application as a draft it can be submitted online until midnight on the closing date.
