Following up a positive result

If you have received a positive result for bowel screening, traces of blood were found in your sample/s. This could be due to many things and does not mean you definitely have bowel cancer. Please discuss your result with your healthcare provider. It is likely they will recommend a colonoscopy.

It is important that you follow through with this referral so a specialist can help to find out the source of blood in your sample.

Feeling unsure about why you need the colonoscopy or what’s involved? The videos below will provide some answers.
