Prostate and urological cancer

Prostate cancer is cancer of the prostate, the male organ that sits next to the urinary bladder and contributes to semen (sperm fluid) production. Urological cancer is cancer of the renal system or urinary tract, including cancer of the kidney, bladder, urethra, paraurethral gland and renal pelvis. (Source - Cancer Australia).

Prostate cancer affects one in 11 Australian men and is common in the over-65 age group. Many cases are not life threatening because the cancer may be slow growing and usually occurs in older men.

Treatment for prostate cancer depends on a range of factors, such as the man's age, physical condition, the stage of his prostate cancer and his personal preference.
