This cultural mapping project will be undertaken by the Kalpowar Land Trust on a nature refuge on Aboriginal freehold. Kalpowar Traditional Owners will identify and record rock art and cultural heritage sites, using a methodology combining traditional knowledge and modern technology.
The project provides an opportunity for Indigenous young people to develop their skills in cultural heritage management.
Traditional Owners plan to utilise the results of this project (maps, records, recommendations) as a tool to impart their knowledge to the next generation and to develop strategies to promote the heritage value.
