Adult and mature age apprentices and trainees

There is no upper age limit for apprentices and trainees in Queensland. In fact, older workers typically bring maturity, reliability and experience—valuable assets for any employer.

Training credit

If you've already got some skills and experience, you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) which may shorten the time you serve as an apprentice or trainee. Apprenticeships and traineeships are competency-based, not time-based.

Higher wages

As a mature age apprentice or trainee, you may earn higher wages compared to younger apprentices and trainees.
