Sexual Violence Awareness Month
October is Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
Sexual violence can happen to anybody, regardless of age, gender, race, culture, socioeconomic status, ability, sexual orientation, or location.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and live free from the fear, threat, or experience of sexual violence. We all have a role to play in preventing this form of violence in our workplaces and communities and ensuring the safety of all Queenslanders—in particular, women and children who face the highest rate of sexual violence.
