Accessing records, reports or timetables
To access old report cards or school records, you need to contact the school in question directly. You can write to the principal, requesting access to records or to have your records amended.
Read more about access to records held in schools—this procedure is targeted towards 'freedom of information' requests.
Review the types of documents held in schools (DOC, 270KB) to see what is kept, and who can apply for access.
The OneSchool database, which is currently being rolled out in phases, provides more centralised management of student records and reports.
Timetables
Parents often seek information about student timetables and particularly exam timetables. This information may be published on your school website, or in your school newsletter.
If not, you can talk to your child or your child’s teacher to get copies of this kind of information.
School reporting
Queensland schools must report various statistics, as well as student and school achievements each year. This information is publicly available on the school website and the Department of Education, Training and Employment website to help parents make informed choices about their school. This information is provided in 3 ways:
- statewide reporting—provides information on post school destinations and Year 12 outcomes
- school reporting—information is made public through each school's Annual Report
- student reporting—reports on individual students.
