Social Kayaking

Enjoy a gentle paddle 30 minutes upstream and 30 minutes back to Teddington Weir. Please bring: Your own kayak Paddle PFD (vest)Sun protection. All ages and families are welcome. No bookings required. Please arrive 15 minutes early!

Butchulla Survival Skills - Traditional Fishing Methods

Connect to culture, Country and Sea at this hands-on Youth Week experience led by Butchulla Land and Sea Rangers.Traditional fishing methods of the Butchulla people, the Traditional Owners of K’gari and the Hervey Bay region, are deeply connected to the seasons and environmental indicators. The Fish Trap symbolises the seasonal relationship between Butchulla and Sea Country.This is a unique opportunity to listen, connect and learn about Butchulla culture, how to find fresh water, identify plants that can help in survival situations and build a Fish Trap.All young people aged 12–25 are encouraged to come along, though registrations are capped at 25 participants.

A youth-focused community event delivered in collaboration with a wide range of local youth services, community organisations, sporting groups and food vendors. This free, inclusive event offers sports come & try, circus workshop, arts & crafts, live music, lawn games and Colour Run.

QLD Youth Week is coming to Cecil Plains! Youth Connect are bringing the ParkVibe celebrations to Cecil Plains for young people aged 12–25, and it's shaping up to be a big afternoon of fun.

Join them for music, Laser Tag, Archery Attack, outdoor art workshops, and free food, all happening at Henry Stuart Russell Park on Monday. Grab your friends, soak up the good vibes, and celebrate QLD Youth Week with an action‑packed afternoon designed just for young people.

Challenge your mates at Laser Skirmish in Howard for an action-packed, free morning of outdoor fun. Meet at Howard State School, 108 William Street, at 9:30am for registration and a safety briefing - look for the FCRC marquee! Participants must wear closed-in shoes (no crocs) and sensible clothing suitable for a two-hour session. A free sausage sizzle lunch will be provided!
