Youth Week Line Dancing

2026 Youth Matters Conference: F.L.I.P

Presented by Multicultural Youth Queensland (MYQ) the conference will provide a youth-led space to share ideas, showcase projects and shape inclusive futures. Do you have an idea or project that supports young people? Or want to learn from others creating change in their communities? The Youth Matters Conference brings multicultural young people together to share lived experience, explore issues that matter, and turn ideas into action. Through project showcases, conversations and interactive sessions, you’ll connect with other young leaders, discover grassroots initiatives, and find new ways to collaborate and grow your impact.

Location: Queensland Multicultural Centre (QMC), Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.

Youth Week: DIY and Defiant with Ana Daniels

Join Bundaberg-born artist Ana Daniels for this practical workshop exploring creativity and identity through textiles. Using upcycled fabrics and everyday materials, participants will experiment with construction and sculptural techniques to create their own tactile artworks.

Inspired by Ana’s exhibition Home Bodies, this workshop invites participants to transform the ordinary into something bold, expressive, and unexpected. Through experimentation, young creatives will discover how textiles can spark discussion on resilience, self-determination and DIY culture.

This workshop is part of Queensland Youth Week - a celebration of young people and their incredible achievements, ideas, talents and contributions to our community. No prior experience is needed and all materials are provided.

ParkVibe at Clifton

QLD Youth Week is coming to Clifton!Youth Connect are bringing the ParkVibe celebrations to Clifton for young people aged 12–25, and it's shaping up to be a big afternoon of fun.

Join them for music, Laser Tag, Archery Attack, outdoor art workshops, and free food, all happening at Elsie Jones Park on Friday.

Grab your friends, soak up the good vibes, and celebrate QLD Youth Week with an action‑packed afternoon designed just for young people. Free, fun, and not to be missed!

Youth Week: Printmaking with Kaz Stanton

Join artist Kaz Stanton this Youth Week for a hands-on exploration of printmaking and storytelling through art. Participants will experiment with dry point etching using upcycled everyday materials, learning how to scratch, ink, and print their own layered artwork.

Through this tactile process, you’ll piece together an image that reflects on your own ideas of home, memory, and place.

Currently exhibiting in The Unrequited Dream at CHARTS, Kaz creates work inspired by suburban life in Queensland while confronting the changing realities of cost of living, environmental damage and identity. Bring along a few reference images — photos of home, places you love to go, or locations that hold memory — and transform them into a unique artwork to take home.

Sandbar Walk

Social walk along the Dayman Spit - Explore ocean treasures at low tide.

Departing at 12.45pm from Dayman Spit, Urangan, returning at sunset. Please walk as far as your health allows, open to all ages, shoes are optional. Walks will still go ahead if rain is predicted.

No dogs allowed.

Meeting/departure area will be under the trees near the entrance to the bottom carpark at Reef world/Waterfront restaurant.

If no parking available near Reef world, there is another carpark further up next to Dayman Park.

If you want to walk to the end, it takes approximately 1hr 30mins.

Toilets available behind the Milbi Sea turtle rehabilitation centre located next the carpark.

If wanting a quick bite or a coffee, The Baker's Room is located up the road opposite Dayman Park.

Ipswich Blue Light Dance Night

Get ready to turn up the music and celebrate Youth Week in style! A night where young people can come together, move to the beat, and celebrate the energy, creativity, and spirit of youth. This is a fully supervised supported by QLD Police. All Blue Light events are strictly drug- and alcohol free.

Event is for ages 8 - 17.  Booking times may vary, as this event will run in separate sessions for primary school students and high school students.

Community Groove - Easter Disco

Hop into Youth Week with our All-Abilities Easter Disco! Enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing and inclusive fun for everyone. Entry is just a gold coin donation, with prizes up for grabs for best dressed, so bring your Easter vibes! Resident DJs Loop & Bounce will be spinning the tunes and keep an eye out… the Easter Bunny might just make a special appearance!

Canteen and sausage sizzle available (cash only). Bring your friends along to dance the evening away! Parents and guardians are welcome to stay as well. Ages: 5-14 years. All abilities welcome! Gold coin donation at the door.

Toogoom Fishing Competition

Young fishers aged 12–25 are invited to cast a line at the Toogoom Fishing Competition - a fun, free event celebrating the great outdoors and friendly competition. Held along the beautiful Toogoom foreshore, participants will compete for prizes across several categories, including first fish caught, biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish caught during the day. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just keen to give fishing a go, this is a great chance to enjoy the morning by the water, meet other young people and test your skills. Presented by Fraser Coast Regional Council in partnership with the Toogoom Fishing Club.

Youth Workshop- Building Resilience and Befriending Stress

This youth-focused workshop is designed to equip young Queenslanders with practical tools to navigate stress, strengthen emotional resilience, and build confidence as they shape their futures. The program integrates interactive learning, experiential activities, and meaningful discussions that align with the vision of The Young Queenslanders Strategy, supporting young people to participate, cultivate, live well, and thrive in their communities.

We would have a guest speaker who is a famous sportsperson and would deliver talk on resilience.
