About the Play On! Sports Vouchers

The Play On! Sports Vouchers program helps eligible Queensland children and young people get involved in organised sport by reducing the cost of participation. It makes sport more affordable, so more children can stay active and try new sports.

What’s available?

When applications are open, eligible Queensland families can apply for a Play On! Sports Voucher worth up to $200 for each child aged 5 to 17 years. The vouchers can be used to help cover the cost of approved sporting activities.

Choose the right application round

There are two application rounds each financial year, so families can choose the one that best suits their child's sporting season.

As each eligible child can receive one voucher per financial year, it's worth thinking about when your child's sport starts before you apply.

There are two opportunities to apply for a Play On! Sports Voucher this financial year. As each eligible child can receive one voucher per financial year, families should apply in the round that best matches their child's sporting season.

  • If your child is playing summer sport, apply during this round.
  • If your child is playing a winter sport later in the financial year, you may prefer to wait for the next application round.

Choosing the right round will help you get the most value from your voucher.

Things to know

  • Each voucher is valued at up to $200.
  • Each eligible child can receive one voucher per financial year.
  • A dedicated allocation of vouchers is available for eligible children living in regional and country Queensland.
  • The program includes accessible sporting opportunities to help children of all abilities participate.

What can I use the voucher for?

Play On! Sports Vouchers can be used for membership or participation costs (e.g. weekly game fees, coaching, facility access, events). Vouchers can’t be used to pay for equipment, uniforms or other non-participation costs.

How does the voucher work?

A Play On! Sports Voucher can only be used once.

If your child's eligible sporting fees are less than $200, the voucher will cover the full amount. Any money left over can't be refunded, transferred or used for another sport or activity.

If your child's eligible sporting fees are more than $200, you'll need to pay the remaining amount yourself.
