On this page
Applications for Play On! Learn to Swim vouchers are now open for eligible families with a valid Health Care or Concession card.
This page is for approved Play On! Learn to Swim referral agents.
Not yet registered? You must be an approved referral agent before you can refer children or apply for vouchers on behalf of families. Register as a Play On! Learn to Swim referral agent.
Who you can refer
As a referral agent, you can refer a child aged 0-4 years who, in your professional opinion, needs genuine financial assistance to participate in learn to swim lessons with a registered Play On! Learn to Swim activity provider.
If a child has a valid Health Care or Concession Card, they do not need a referral. Their parent, carer or guardian can apply directly when applications are open.
Before you make a referral
Referral agent vouchers are limited, so referrals should only be made for children who need genuine financial assistance to participate in learn to swim lessons.
Before making a referral, make sure the family understands that:
- the voucher can only be used with a registered Play On! Learn to Swim activity provider
- if participation fees are more than $150, they will need to pay the remaining balance themselves
- if eligible fees are less than $150, any unused balance cannot be refunded, transferred or used towards another activity.
Referring family members
You cannot refer an immediate family member.
You may refer a child from your extended family if they meet the eligibility requirements, but you must be able to demonstrate why they should receive support.
Referring children to your own organisation
If you work for, volunteer with or are a member of a registered Play On! Learn to Swim activity provider, you cannot refer a child to that organisation.
You can, however:
- help the parent, carer or guardian apply for a voucher
- help them find another registered Play On! Learn to Swim activity provider.
How to support families
As a referral agent, you can:
- help families set up an account and apply for a voucher
- provide access to a computer or device
- help them find a registered activity provider
- submit an application for a voucher on their behalf, where appropriate.
