Camping while fossicking
Camping is allowed in some designated fossicking lands and areas, including:
- Duck Creek and Sheep Station Creek designated fossicking land
- Opalton designated fossicking land
- Divide, Reward, Rubyvale, Sapphire and Scrub Lead designated fossicking land (other than prohibited camping land).
You need a fossicking camping permit to camp in these areas.
The maximum stay at any one area is 3 months.
A camping permit does not authorise you to fossick. If you wish to fossick, you can purchase a fossicking licence.
