Information about our online services

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) offers several of its services online including:

  • apply for a number of individual licence types
  • renew a number of licences and certificates
  • apply for incorporation of an association
  • apply for registration of a charity
  • apply for a sanction
  • submit an annual return
  • lodge an audit report
  • request a copy, replacement or extract of a number of OFT licence and registration certificates
  • pay an outstanding amount
  • respond to an infringement notice issued by the OFT.

These services are available on the Liquor, Gaming and Fair Trading online services portal.

The portal also includes forms for occupational licensees including:

  • real estate agents (renew)
  • resident letting agents (renew)
  • Auctioneers (renew)
  • motor dealers (renew)
  • debt collectors (apply and renew)
  • security providers (apply and renew)
  • tattooists to apply or renew a licence or registration certificate online.

Not-for-profits can also use the portal to:

  • apply for incorporated associations, charities and sanctions
  • lodge annual returns.

Licensees can now resend receipts and upload documents through the online portal.

Access OFT online services

Getting started

You will need to enter your OFT-issued licence, certificate or organisation number to access our online services.

You will also be asked to create a Queensland Digital Identity (QDI), or if you already have one, simply log in.

From the portal landing page, you can either:

  • Choose login—allowing you to log in first before completing a service or form.
  • Select the relevant form or service from the portal landing page. You’ll be prompted to enter your licence, certificate or organisation number.

Why create a QDI?

Creating a QDI gives you access to the hundreds of services online offered by the Queensland Government. For example, driver licence or car registration renewals.

It’s easy and quick to set up. But if you don't want to remember another username and password, you can log in using your existing Google or Microsoft account details.

When accessing a form or service on the portal you’ll create a QDI when entering your licence or organisation number. This can also be done separately here.

By creating a QDI and verifying your identity, your form will be pre-filled. This means information previously given to us is automatically filled in each time you login or access a service or form.

You can log in at any time to track the status of your submission.
If you are the:

  • secretary, president or treasurer of an incorporated association, or
  • the secretary of a charity

you will need to create an individual QDI to have your form pre-filled.

For your security, some online services may need you to digitally prove your identification. This only needs to be done once. Once your identity has been verified, your login will be updated.

Linking your QDI to your OFT service

After creating your QDI, we need you to prove that you are the correct person associated with the nominated OFT service information.

You will be asked a series of questions based on information we already have about you. If you answer correctly, your QDI will be permanently linked to your OFT record, and you’ll be able to see your personal data when accessing services.

You only need to prove your identity once—next time you can log in and get started straight away.

You don’t need to create a QDI to submit your renewal or annual return online. These forms can be lodged online using a non-pre-filled public form.

But you’ll only receive online status updates with a QDI linked to your OFT record. You also can’t complete any outstanding requirements for your application or check the status of your form online.

‘Step up’ your QDI to receive a pre-filled licence renewal form

We can’t link your QDI to OFT, and you won’t get a pre-filled form, if we don’t have enough information to confirm your identity.

You can ‘step up’ your QDI by adding more information into our database such as a certified copy of your driver licence or passport.

When this information has been received and entered into our database, you can log into our online services using your QDI, answer the identification questions, and your account will be permanently linked to OFT. You will then get pre-filled forms.

You can use our online services on the latest version of:

  • Chrome v91 or later
  • Edge v90 or later
  • Firefox v88 or later
  • Safari v12 or later

Our online services also support the following mobile browsers, so you can access our services from your mobile phone or tablet:

  • Safari (Apple iOS-based devices such as iPhone and iPad)
  • Android Browser (Android-based devices such as Samsung Galaxy)
  • Google Chrome Mobile (Apple and Android devices).
