Proof of identity documents for Queensland Corrective Services

The proof of identity (ID) documents listed below are accepted by Queensland Corrective Services.

Applicants must provide 1 of either:

  • current driver licence
  • current passport
  • a letter signed by a member of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation that identifies the person by name and signature
  • identification card containing the person’s photo issued by:
    • the chief executive
    • a law enforcement agency
    • the Supreme Court
    • a state government entity (including a photo identification card issued by the Department of Transport and Main Roads)
    • an education facility.

Alternatively, proof of identity can be verified by any 3 of the following:

  • other current photographic ID displaying signature
  • birth certificate
  • Medicare card
  • pensioner or social security card
  • statutory declaration
  • debit card, credit card or bank book with signature.
