About Tradies in Paradise

Queensland's February 2022 floods caused widespread damage to public and private property, including homes and businesses.

The Queensland Government's Tradies in Paradise initiative aims to attract interstate tradespeople to move to Queensland to help impacted communities rebuild and recover sooner, while keeping Queensland's strong economy growing.

Queensland's in-demand construction workforce is also set to benefit from a golden decade of growth and opportunity leading into the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the renewable energy boom.

To help inspire and attract up to 1,000 eligible construction trades and other building industry professionals, the Tradies in Paradise initiative includes interstate advertising and promotions, as well as an incentive scheme offering cash bonuses of up to $1,750.

Links to accommodation and employment information, as well as licensing and safety induction requirements, are also provided to help interested tradies explore their options.

Anyone seeking to relocate is encouraged to seek information and advice relevant to them and their profession before deciding to relocate.

Tradies from New South Wales are not targeted as part of the initiative, given the large-scale flood reconstruction effort required in their home state.
