Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI)

The Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) runs the 2 Spirits program which aims to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTI people.

Relationships Australia Queensland aims to improve relationships within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities by providing relationship advice, counselling and education.

Sexually transmitted infection (STI)

Brisbane Indigenous Youth Health Service

Brisbane’s Indigenous Youth Health Service helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in Queensland with their health needs. Services include free:

  • sexual health education and condoms
  • advice on STIs
  • healing and relationship advice.

Contraception and pregnancy

True Relationships and Reproductive Health (formerly Family Planning Queensland) can help you with information about contraception and pregnancy, including advice on teenage and unplanned pregnancies. It also has a drop-in service for young people.
