Governance
The Sunshine Coast Waterways Authority is committed to strong governance and transparent leadership. This ensures the sustainable management and development of the region’s waterways. Established under the Sunshine Coast Waterways Authority Act 2026, our governance structure provides strategic direction, accountability and oversight. This helps align our work with the needs of the community, environment and economy.
The Board
The Sunshine Coast Waterways Authority Board provides leadership to ensure our work supports government priorities and community expectations. They are responsible for the Authority’s strategic direction. They monitor performance and ensure ethical and transparent operations.
The Board is accountable to the Minister for Transport and Main Roads. It is made up of experienced professionals with expertise in:

The Chief Executive Officer
The Chief Executive Officer leads the day-to-day management of the Authority. They report to the Board and are responsible for:
- delivering the Authority’s strategic objectives
- overseeing key projects
- managing stakeholder relationships
- ensuring compliance with legislation and policy
