Register interest in a government board position

Part of the Government board positions topic

In short

The Queensland Register of Nominees to Government Boards is a confidential register of people interested in serving on government boards, committees and statutory authorities.

Register your interest in board position opportunities by building your online profile today.

About the register

When a government-nominated position becomes vacant, agencies search the Queensland Register of Nominees to Government Boards register for people with skills to suit the position.

Registering is easy and takes just a few minutes. Once you’re registered you can choose what you want to do:

  • apply for vacancies as they become available—you can search for vacancies at any time.
  • set up notifications—know when there’s a vacancy and decide if you want to apply.

If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted directly by the government agency responsible for the vacancy.

Who can join the register?

All Queenslanders are eligible to join the register to be considered for a range of government boards and committees, however joining the register does not guarantee appointment.

We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, people with expertise in multiculturalism, young people and people with disabilities to join. This contributes to diversity in the boardroom and can add different perspectives and approaches that have positive outcomes.

To register, you’ll need to provide a curriculum vitae of 1–2 pages (maximum) accurately describing your skills and experience.

We have a user guide and template curriculum vitae to help you, as well as more information on becoming a board member.
