Secondary school scholarships

The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) offers scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at private secondary schools across Queensland. It also offers tertiary residential scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students in New South Wales and Queensland.

Yalari offers scholarships for full boarding and tuition for full boarding and tuition for some boarding schools in Australia. Scholarships are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote, regional and rural areas who are beginning their first year of high school. Applications for scholarships usually open around March each year.

QATSIF (Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation) through its Queensland Certificate of Education Scholarship Program provides scholarship funding to support eligible students across Years 11 & 12. Schools should apply when students are in Year 10. In 2017, QATSIF supported 2,290 students from across the State, Catholic and Independent sectors.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme offers Indigenous students up to $15,000 per year for pharmacy studies at university.

Accountancy and economics scholarships

CPA Australia sponsors up to 5 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholarships annually.

Aunty Pamela Mam Indigenous Nursing Scholarship

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have been accepted into a Griffith Nursing or Midwifery program can apply for the Aunty Pamela Mam Indigenous Nursing Scholarship.

Australian College of Nursing

The Australian College of Nurses offers scholarships to study nursing and midwifery.

Australian Dental Association Study Grants for Indigenous dental students

The Australian Dental Association Study Grant is a grant of $5000 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to help with costs while studying for a dentistry qualification.

Bernie Singleton Scholarship

Apunipima's Bernie Singleton Scholarship provides support to Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples from Cape York communities to study full-time in health or management related studies at university.

Care2Achieve: scholarship for young women leaving care

Young women aged 17–21 years who are leaving or have left care are eligible for a Care2Achieve scholarship to undertake tertiary studies through university or TAFE. The scholarship offers financial support, mentoring and support to establish connections with future potential employers. Applications close 1 September 2017. Apply for Care2Achieve .

Dr Alan Van Tran and Minh Ha Tran Indigenous Health Education Bursary 2017

The Dr Alan Van Tran and Minh Ha Tran Indigenous Health Education Bursary is awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying an undergraduate or post-graduate program in the University of Queensland's Faculty of Medicine or Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences.

Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships: University of Queensland

The University of Queensland offers Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who intend to enrol in degrees in Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Advanced Science or Mathematics. Lambert McBride Perpetual Bursary

The Lambert McBride Perpetual Bursary provides a one-off payment of $5,000 for a high-achieving Aboriginal student or Torres Strait Islander student in their 2nd or 3rd year of full-time university study.

Oodgeroo Noonuccal Scholarship

The Oodgeroo Noonuccal Scholarship is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking undergraduate and post-graduate coursework at Queensland University of Technology.

Pearl Duncan Scholarship

Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarships support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders while they study to become teachers.

Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship

The Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme provides financial help of up to $15,000 per year for Indigenous students to get a health qualification at a university or TAFE (Certificate 4 or above). Accepted courses include allied health, dentistry/oral health, medicine, midwifery and nursing.

Thelma Myers Memorial Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship

The Thelma Myers Memorial Scholarship is offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate nursing students at James Cook University.

The Nellie Thomas Bursary

The Nellie Thomas Bursary is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in or accepted into a Griffith University medicine or health program.

Youth Justice First Nations Scholarship

The Youth Justice First Nations Scholarship is offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking undergraduate or post-graduate study in psychology or social work at James Cook University.
