National NAIDOC Week

Each year in the first week of July from Sunday to Sunday, NAIDOC Week celebrations highlight the rich and diverse cultures of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the First Australians.

NAIDOC Week celebrations and community events are a great opportunity for all Queenslanders to come together and acknowledge the histories, cultures, customs and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.

The 2026 NAIDOC Week (5 to 12 July) theme is 50 Years of Deadly.

Fifty Years of Deadly marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built the movement. The Elders, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.
