About the Queensland Digital Identity
Your Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) is how we establish that you are who you say you are.
A digital identity is like a virtual version of yourself that exists on the internet. It represents who you are when you're online. Some Queensland Government services will only require an email address and password to access the service, while others may require a stronger QDI.
The Queensland Digital Identity system is modern, robust and innovative. It uses latest technology to safeguard your personal information, meeting the highest national standards and security protocols for digital identity.
Have the Digital Licence app — or even just started onboarding? You already have a Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) which can be used to access other Queensland Government online services.
Your QDI is highly assured, and unique to you, and you should never share your login details with anyone. For someone else to access your QDI, they would need to know your email address, password, and have possession of your mobile phone or device with the authenticator app.
Can I delete or deactivate my Queensland Digital Identity?
You can apply to delete your QDI. Where Queensland law permits, we will delete your QDI if requested. However, as the custodians of public records, it is unlawful for us to delete your QDI if it is a public record under the Queensland Public Records Act 2023. If we cannot lawfully delete your account, we will deactivate it so that it can no longer be used.
Contact us if you wish to apply to delete or deactivate your QDI.
We will verify your identity before processing your application.
If your QDI is deactivated and you wish to use it in the future, you will need to contact us to reactivate it.
