Walking with Dads is a Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs program, operating in Mount Isa only, for families in contact with Child Safety. This program aims to assist families where fathers have exposed their children to domestic and family violence. Save the Children supports fathers to address barriers that are preventing them from accepting responsibility for their violent behaviours by providing individual and group programs. Men’s behaviour change programs work with men who have perpetrated violence against women in Doomadgee, Burketown, Mornington Island and Normanton.

Sexual violence support is available for male and female victims of sexual violence, aged 14 years and above, across the Mount Isa and Gulf catchment. Our team can assist with accessing counselling services, practical outreach support and safety planning. Domestic and family violence information for community organisations, businesses, schools etc can be arranged by phoning our Mount Isa office. Workshops, courses and events can be requested at any time.
