Gambling harm consultations

If you've been affected by gambling—either yours or someone else's—your lived experience can help others experiencing gambling harm.

We'd like your feedback on gambling harm minimisation policies, initiatives or changes we're planning.

Your involvement in our consultations could positively impact the lives of others experiencing gambling harm.

‘Lived experience’ is the knowledge and understanding you get when you’ve lived through something; in this case, we mean the experience of gambling—either your own or someone else’s—negatively affecting your life.

If after reading the information on this page you’re happy for us to contact you when we need your input, please fill out the registration form.

Once you’ve registered your interest, in future we might:

  • ask you to attend an online focus group or one-on-one interview
  • ask for your written comments
  • engage with you in some other way.

You must select the drop downs and read the rest of this page before you can register.

You must live in Queensland and be 18 or older to take part in our gambling harm consultations.

Before we contact you about a consultation, we need to check your involvement won’t affect your continued wellbeing. After you’ve registered, we will contact you with a few extra questions.

At any time you can change your mind about participating and let us know by emailing safergambling@justice.qld.gov.au.

Your contribution is valuable to us and sometimes you could be paid for your participation.

The amount will vary depending on the type of consultation. As a guide, you could receive around $50 per hour in the form of a gift voucher for participating in an online focus group.

Provide your details so we can consult with you.
