Nominations for the Multicultural Queensland Awards 2024 are now open, recognising individuals and organisations for their outstanding contribution to an inclusive multicultural Queensland.

The awards are an important opportunity to share the extraordinary and innovative ways people and organisations are making Queensland communities stronger and more cohesive by ensuring everyone is supported to connect, contribute and belong.

Nominations are open in the following categories:

  • Outstanding contribution by a new Queenslander (individual)
  • Diversity and inclusion champion (individual and organisation)
  • Multicultural sector outstanding achiever (individual and organisation)
  • Lifetime Achiever (individual). This is new category to celebrate extraordinary individuals who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion in their communities.

This year, for the first time, nominations will be accepted in the nominator’s language.

Nominators can contact MQM@des.qld.gov.au by Friday 29 March 2024 to arrange for a nomination in language.

Nominations close at 5pm on Sunday 7 April 2024.

To nominate or for more information, please visit www.qld.gov.au/mqa.

Winners will be announced in August, during our largest celebration of cultural diversity in Queensland, Multicultural Queensland Month.
