Queensland Mental Health Week

Mental illness can affect anyone. About half of all Australians experience it in their lifetime, and about one in five experience a mental health issue in any one year.

Queensland Mental Health Week (7–15 October 2023) provides an opportunity to raise community awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing and reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions.

The theme for 2023 is ‘Awareness, Belonging, Connection’, which reflects the important factors that help people maintain positive mental health and wellbeing. It is about connecting with the people in our lives and creating space for conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

With more than 300 events set to occur during the week, there is plenty of opportunity for communities to connect in person and online.
