Elderly man is happy in front of his house with solar panels

Rebates of up to $4,000 are now available for eligible Queenslanders to purchase and install home battery systems connected to rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The Battery Booster program is an initiative under the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan to support households with the cost of living and to adopt renewable energy technologies.

Homeowners’ eligibility is determined by the combined annual income of applicants and requires an approved battery system installed by an approved installer.

If you have solar power at your home, or you’re thinking of getting it, home batteries will enable you to use more of the energy your solar system generates, potentially reducing household electricity bills and cutting emissions.

A home battery energy storage system can store your home’s solar energy, help manage your electricity use by reducing the amount you use from the grid in high priced periods, and potentially provide a supply of electricity during power outages.
