Hear from 2022–2023 Regional Community Forum members about how getting involved creates real impact for your community. Forum members come from diverse places and backgrounds, ages and experiences but they work together for their common goal of making a difference in their region.

About the region

More than 230,000 people reside in Central Queensland which spreads across more than 117,500 square kilometres. It stretches from Rockhampton in the north to Agnes Water/1770 in the south and out to Biloela and Emerald in the west.

The region is a well-established contributor to our economy through both tourism and agricultural pursuits.

Queensland’s largest multi-commodity port is located in Gladstone, while the region as a whole is recognised as Australia’s largest beef producer and a substantial contributor to energy production, mining, manufacturing, construction, horticulture, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture.

Central Queensland encompasses large townships such as Gladstone, Rockhampton, Emerald, Biloela and Yeppoon as well as many smaller communities.
