Gold Coast Community Forum updates showcase the actions being taken by Forum members to progress shared local goals and opportunities and address local challenges.

Check out the updates below to discover how partnerships between Government and the Gold Coast community work to ensure the Gold Coast is one of the best places to live and work.

The inaugural Gold Coast Community Forum (Forum) was held on 23 November 2023 at the Cohort Innovation Space, in Southport.

The Honourable Meaghan Scanlon MP, the then Minister for Housing (Forum Chair) provided an overview of Queensland Government programs and investment on the Gold Coast to Forum members and guests.

Forum members learned about the challenges facing the health sector in the region, about plans for both the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct and the Currumbin Eco Parkland development.

Challenges facing the Gold Coast community were discussed, and the group began to identify opportunities for actions to strengthen the local economy and service delivery. These conversations will inform the development of a Forum Action Plan to guide the focus of the Forum over the next two years.

To finish the day, the group toured the Cohort Innovation Space and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, including the impressive Neutex Image Guided Surgical Training and Robotics Centre where doctors and medical students from around the world learn new techniques to perform surgery on stroke victims.
